ReplyDeleteSeeing you create one of your pelts at the Museum of Art & Design & through the pictures in your bio artist binder is such a strong image in my mind, it’s wonderful. Your work is mathematical knitting made into playful work playful art. Of course, the non-death of the animals that you created makes me consider the living earthlings that they represent. Real life patterns that express irony…. yes vanished a profound impact.
The effect that your work had on the ambiance of the room the night of the opening was striking. Standing on the 35th floor across from the art deco Chrysler Building combined imagery of lavish ornamentation and geometric shapes in my mind. These two images are a part of the natural design that is the camouflage of the animals you ingeniously mimic. Would creating the Chrysler building your way be as powerful as these tigers and how they are mounted….?....?
